During the city commission meeting on June 8th, the commissioners approved the Board of Directors of Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, Inc. (TMH) new members of the TMH Board of Directors.

According to the report, because the city owns certain land, buildings, and other assets of TMH, the lease agreement between the City of Tallahassee and TMH provides that elections of directors are subject to confirmation by the city commission.

Four members were approved: Allison Harrell, Thomas Noel, M.D., and Cissy Proctor for an initial three-year term, and Heemanshi Shah, M.D., for a one-year term as the Immediate Past Chair of the TMH Medical Staff.

Harrell, a graduate of Florida State University with her Bachelor’s in Science in Accounting and a Master’s in Accountancy, became a shareholder of Thomas Howell Ferguson, P.A. in her early thirties.

Dr. Noel holds his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Florida and completed his residency and cardio fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Proctor is a Managing Partner of the LSN Partners Tallahassee office. Before that, she served six years at the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity. Proctor received her J.D. magna cum laude from Florida States College of Law.

Lastly, Dr. Shah, an associate professor at the College of Medicine and TMH Hospitalist group director, graduated from New York Brooklyn College and completed his residency at Western Reserve Care System/forum.

“These individuals are held in high esteem and regarded as outstanding citizens who consistently contribute to the advancement of our community,” wrote G. Mark O’Bryant, TMH President and CEO, in a letter to the city attorney.
