Heckler serves as founder and managing partner of LSN Law, P.A. and LSN Partners LLC, a premier full-service strategic consulting firm assisting corporate and non-profit clients with complex regulatory and public policy matters across Florida and nationally. Repeatedly named to Florida Trend’s “100 Most Influential Business Leaders,” he is heavily involved in national political leadership, public service, and local civic organizations. The University of Miami School of Law provided a strong foundation for my legal education and professional career. The curriculum was influential, encouraged strategic thinking, sound judgment, and rigorous analysis. The faculty brought meaningful real-world perspectives to the classroom, challenging students to approach complex issues with both precision and perspective.
The University of Miami offered a distinctive environment for understanding the intersection of law, government, business, economic development. That perspective shaped my view of the lawyer’s role beyond traditional legal practice. The experiences, relationships, mentorship at Miami Law continue to influence my approach to client relationships, leadership, and decision-making. They remain an important part of the foundation upon which I have built my career.
How did your education at the University of Miami School of Law prepare you for your career?
My education at the University of Miami School of Law prepared me for the demands of practicing law in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment. Law school taught me how to manage competing priorities, work through difficult problems, communicate clearly, and advocate for a position. Those skills have remained valuable throughout my career.
Just as important, Miami Law taught me the value of relationships. The connections I made with classmates, professors, mentors, members of the legal community have continued well beyond graduation. That combination of legal training, practical experience, and relationship building gave me the confidence to pursue opportunities, take on greater responsibility, and eventually establish my own firm.
What opportunities or connections did you gain at the law school, and how did they influence your career?
Some of my closest friends are people I met at the University of Miami School of Law. Those relationships have remained an important part of my life long after graduation. Law school also introduced me to members of the South Florida legal community who became important professional connections.
The relationships I built at Miami Law gave me a strong network as I began my career. They opened doors to new opportunities, provided guidance at important points, and created lasting professional and personal connections. Over time, that network became an important part of my decision to build my own practice. I continue to value the friendships and professional relationships that began during my time at Miami Law.
