- House Approves Water Resources Development Act, Sending Bill to Senate for Final Approval -The U.S. House of Representatives overwhelmingly approved the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA), legislation to improve the nation’s ports and harbors, inland waterway navigation, flood and storm protection, and other aspects of the nation’s water resources infrastructure. The legislation includes provisions to address concerns raised over the past several years by state departments of transportation by redistributing unobligated balances under the Transportation Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (TIFIA) program to the states through the existing Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG) program.
