Heidi Richards, Associate at LSN Partners, brings a significant amount of government, leadership, and advocacy experience to the LSN clients she collaborates with through the Broward County procurement process. Additionally, Heidi provides advocacy, assistance, and knowledge to clients.
Heidi has worked extensively in public service and has a vast understanding of government. With more than ten years of senior leadership experience within the private, public, and non-profit sectors, Heidi is an expert coalition builder, passionate advocate, and expert in creating client-focused campaigns. Additionally, Heidi has expertise in economic development, transportation, and housing to communicate and advance complicated policy issues with political leaders, companies, and stakeholders.
Before joining LSN, Heidi was the Chief of Staff to Broward County Commissioner / FY 2020 Mayor Dale V.C. Holness. While in this position, Heidi provided strategic advice operational oversight and created and coordinated international, economic development, and affordable housing policy. She was a liaison between her office and other Commissioners, County Administration, County departments, and the business community. Heidi was instrumental in the success of the annual Florida International Trade and Culture Expo conference. She also worked closely with stakeholders to navigate county projects, including the following:
- $1 billion Convention Center and Hotel project
- $29.1 million Port Everglades Port deepening and widening project
- $95 million runway reconstruction project at the Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport
- $122 million Transportation Surtax and Mobility Advancement Plan
Heidi has been featured on MSNBC, Legacy Magazine, and Sun-Sentinel. She was listed as a 40 under 40 Leader in South Florida and recognized as one of South Florida’s 50 Most Powerful Leaders in Business & Industry for 2020. She was appointed to the Board of Directors at the Mount Olive Development Corporation (MODCO). She was a 2016 New Leaders Council (NLC) Fellow, previously serving on the NLC Broward Advisory Board. She was also elected as a Board Member and Fundraising Chairperson for the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) at the New York Metropolitan Chapter. Additionally, because she believes in teaching the next generation, Heidi has taken positions as an Adjunct Professor at Florida International University and Nova Southeastern University.
She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and The Junior League of Greater Fort Lauderdale.
Heidi was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and grew up in Maplewood, New Jersey. She received a Bachelor of Arts from Temple University, a Master’s in public administration and Policy from Metropolitan College of NY, and a Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University. She resides in Tamarac, Florida, with her husband and enjoys rooting for Arsenal F.C., Boston Celtics, and the New York Yankees, playing golf, skiing, and traveling.
