Alexander P. Heckler is an attorney and the founding and managing partner of LSN Partners, a Miami Beach-based consulting firm that offers strategic advice and counsel in the areas of government affairs, government procurement, business development and communications. He is also a partner at Llorente & Heckler P.A., a boutique law firm that provides government law services to clients in the private and non-profit sectors.
In addition to his professional leadership roles, Alex, in a volunteer capacity, is a longtime Democratic party activist, fundraiser and strategist. In 2015, he was appointed to serve as Chair of the Governors’ Cabinet of the Democratic Governors’ Association (DGA) and previously served as the 2010 Treasurer of the DGA. In addition, Alex served as a National Finance Committee Member for the Obama Victory Fund in 2008 and 2012, as the Florida Finance Chair for Hillary Rodham Clinton’s campaign in 2008, and served as the National Finance Co-Chair for the Kerry-Edwards Victory Campaign in 2004 and was a founder and Trustee Trailblazer for the campaign’s 40 and under leadership team. Alex also served on the as an Advisory Board Member of the Democratic Lieutenant Governors Association and as a member of Democratic Municipal Officials (DMO). Alex’s governmental volunteer service includes time in the Office of the White House Press Secretary, Mike McCurry, during the Clinton Administration and in the Offices of Senator Edward Kennedy and Representative Peter Deutsch.
Alexander is an active participant in and supporter of numerous civic and community organizations. He is a current member of the following: National Young Leadership Cabinet of the Jewish Federations of North America, Greater Miami Jewish Federation, Miami-Dade County Co-Chair of the United Way Mayor’s Ball Committee, Miami-Dade County International Trade Consortium Advisory Board, (ITC), Broward County United Way Mayor’s Gala Committee and City of Fort Lauderdale Code Advisory Committee. Furthermore, Alex has received honors and recognition from the Nova Southeastern University (Distinguished High School Alumni Award) and the Broward Young Democrats (2004 Democrat of the Year).
In 2013 Alex and his wife Tiffany, launched the Alexander P. Heckler Family/Governor Ann Richards Summer Political Internship Program at Brandeis University. The internship is awarded annually to a student whose goal is to pursue a professional career in public service, a value that the late Governor Ann Richards instilled in Alex during his time with her while he attended Brandeis University.
Alex is frequently named as one of the most influential people in Florida Politics; George Platt his mentor, a former Broward County Commissioner, called him “one of the brightest stars that have shown during my five decades in political life.” Alex has also lectured on Government Contracting and Public Records for a Florida Bar Continuing Legal Education program.
Alex received his Bachelor of Arts degree with Honors in Politics from Brandeis University and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami. He is a member of the Florida Bar. Alex resides in Miami Beach, Florida with his wife, Tiffany, and two daughters.
