President Donal Trump Executive Orders

On January 20, 2025, President Donald Trump began his second term in office by signing a series of executive orders, addressing a range of issues including immigration, climate change, the federal workforce, and more. Here are the key actions taken:

Rescinding Biden-Era Policies: In his first executive action, Trump overturned 78 actions from the Biden administration, including those focused on racial equity, climate change, and public health.

Immigration and Border Security: Trump declared a national emergency at the U.S.-Mexico border and ordered measures to stop illegal immigration, including halting refugee admissions and reinstating the “Remain in Mexico” policy. He also moved to re-define birthright citizenship, limiting it for children born to undocumented immigrants.

Federal Workforce Changes: Trump mandated federal workers to return to in-person offices and froze federal hiring, except for positions in national security, immigration enforcement, and public safety. Additionally, he moved to eliminate diversity and inclusion programs within federal agencies.

Energy and Climate Policies: The President expanded energy production, rolling back climate-related restrictions and withdrawing the U.S. from the Paris climate agreement. He also halted offshore wind project approvals and directed actions to increase natural resource extraction.

Other Significant Actions: Trump issued a directive to review possible misconduct in the federal government and delayed enforcement of a TikTok ban. He also granted clemency to individuals involved in the January 6th Capitol riot and recognized only two genders in government documentation.

These actions reflect Trump’s continued push to implement an “America First” agenda, focusing on stricter immigration controls, reducing federal regulations, and reasserting U.S. sovereignty in global health and climate matters. Many of these orders are likely to face legal challenges, which could delay or prevent their implementation.

LSN is committed to closely monitoring these developments, as they have the potential to impact a wide range of industries, including energy, technology, and healthcare.
